Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Description

The Jefferson Memorial stands as an iconic landmark in the Washington DC skyline. Its restoration project focused on the portico roof and ceiling, which entailed replacing roof systems along the colonnade and upper roof and conducting necessary repairs to the stone along the architrave. ICONIQ provided comprehensive services including Detailed Construction Phasing, Site Logistics Constructability Studies, and Mockups. They also conducted a 3D Scan Survey, Precise Model Coordinates, and Plum/Flatness Analysis.

Additionally, Precise Detail Capture and Analysis for Historic Conservation (Scan/GPR) were employed to document historic conditions before removal and analyze the structure to determine the route for the new roof drainage. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) was utilized to locate and assess the condition of the hanging system of the historic exterior stone cladding. The lower level renovation included upgrading exterior access, updating exhibit space, the bookstore, and restrooms, as well as replacing infrastructure/utilities.

ICONIQ’s services for this phase encompassed a 3D Scan Survey, Detailed Construction Phasing, Site Logistics Constructability Studies, and Mockups, along with Existing and New MEP Install Sequencing, 3D Coordination Management (VDC Manager), and Progress Tracking (Scan/Photos/4D).
